Moving

Pensacola Florida

The wait is finally over! Our orders came in today. We have to report to Pensacola FL before June 3! I am so excited. We will only be there for a year for flight school but it is going to feel like a year long vacation!

We now have a lot to do between now and then. The Husband has to graduate from OU and Commission, have my sons 2nd birthday, see ALL the family and give out hugs and go through everything before the movers come. The least favorite of all is try and lose weight before then. I hate the thought of giving up chocolate for 6 weeks : ( Boo! The good with the bad I guess.

Milk and Cookies Party

This is my daughter Hannah's 5th birthday. She had a hand in planning everything. She even right before guest got there told me the time line she wanted! I am not kidding she sat me down and told just how things where going to go.
We used The TomKat Studio for all of the printables, half of which got left at home! But we made due with what I packed for the party. We used the milk and cookies party from her Etsy shop. Her pictures of the party inspired so much of what we did in ours.

First you may be asking "Where did you get those milk bottles?" That is what I asked myself anyways. Well they are nothing other than the Starbucks Frappuccino bottles with the labels pulled off!

After you pull the label off you are left with lots of sticky. What I did was let them soak in hot water with a little bit of Dawn and then scrubbed the bottles with a S.O.S pad. It came off super easy. I made sure to rinse everything really well. There you have it your very own milk jug!

The cookie tray I made myself with the help of Joy's Hope she has an amazing tutorial on how to make these carnival of tiered trays. I used a matching scrapbook paper as a liner before I put the cookie down because these are not food safe. The cupcake stand came from Wal-Mart. It is Easter season so I had plenty to choose from. The flower platters came from Hobby Lobby, but be carful they break really easy. We broke one before we even left the store! Guess that's what I get for taking all 4 kids to Hobby Lobby with me.

These are an idea I got from my sister~in~law. These are Moon Pies decorated with frosting. Should have known these would be a hit when they didn't even make it long enough to get a picture of them before little fingers swiped some frosting. The stand is just Styrofoam and left over wrapping paper.

The amazing Pomette's you see are from Pom Flair These made the party look amazing. As I went to put them up I had all my stuff I thought I would need. But then I go to unfold them and grab my roll of tape and what do I find?? Little stickies already on the pomettes! This made for easy assembly for sure.
Tulle Table Skirt Tutorial is where I found this great table cloth. Of course theirs look better but this is only the first one of mine. I am sure to make more since I do have a huge supply of tulle. The trick I learned though is if you are sitting on the floor it is much easier and your bunches turn out lots better. I also cheated and hot glued the ribbon to the tulle. But if you had double stick tape you would be able to reuse everything. I didn't so used my ever handy glue gun.

For the kids I had a play dough table set up. I placed all the dough in a circle all around the table with animal cookie cutters. No chairs so each kid could move around easily. This was a hit! Even some of the adults got in on the action.

This is the favor and gift table.

The felt flowers where made by The Crafty Pearl I then placed them on clips for the little girls at the party.

Found these jars at Hobby Lobby and thought they would be perfect. They look like little milk jugs with lids. Then added peanut m&m's. Didn't have to buy the special colored ones because it is so close to Easter and these color matched up perfect. I made the felt cookies. I had planned on making one for each kid but ran out of time. So just used them for decoration. The poof wands are party favors for the girls as well but they make great decorations. They bring that pop of color. You can find these in my shop or on Facebook.

The party chair. That I made my self. You can find the how to's here

My little girl is 5!

Hairbow made by me. It is M2M the Gymboree line Tennis Match which by the way matches the party printables perfectly!

Can you tell this was after cruising the cookie table!
Her headband was made by Ribbons Buttons n Bows

My pretty little birthday girl!

That is the party in a nutshell! I want to send a huge thank you to all that had a hand in making this a perfect day for Hannah and Me!

THANK YOU!

Great Talent

My Hannah Beth is turning 5! I can not believe it! After finding the prefect birthday party theme I went shopping around for the perfect birthday present for her. I had to go with handmade items, she loves nothing more than something that someone made for her. She takes it as a gift of love. At 5 she sure is a smart cookie : )  I can't wait to see the things she will eventually create when she is grown up.

First the birthday party theme we choose, yes we! She had her hand in choosing everything. We went with the great  The TomKat Studio We used the Cookies and Milk theme.

3 Little Birds Boutique is the most amazing lady and crafter I have ever Facebook met. I love all her work and have gotten Christmas gifts, Valentines gifts, and my Mothers Day gift from her. After seeing all my jewelry that she has made me, my daughter NEEDED something handmade for just her. I connected Kristen and told her what I needed and when I opened the box she sent to me I cried! It was the most amazing piece she has made for me yet! Hannah is sure to love it.

Lulabelle Sweet Gifts is another great shop that you should look in on. She made my artist daughter an art case! What a prefect gift to get her creative juices flowing! It has room for 2 coloring book, 16 crayons, and also holds a package of markers. I have gotten many things from Tina as well. Crayon rolls, burb cloths and many wash clothes. They are all made so well and stand the test of time and 4 toddlers, what more can I say ; ) Her work is amazing!

Rribbons Buttons n Bows is an amazing ribbon artist. She has made me uncountable bows. She made ballet slipper hair clips. They are so cute! Prefect for any little girl that spends her days twirling around with her head in the clouds dreaming up her own fairy tales.

Yelly Beans Designs is my go to gal! If she can't make it no one can! I have had Jess make so many designs for me that we would be here FOREVER if I listed them all. A full years worth of work! Holy Moly! I used her bottle cap images to finish out the Tangled inspired items.

Well there you have it. The most talented ladies out there!
Please visit them and become a new fan. Fill those Birthday dreams with something they made.

Party Chair

My middle daughter is turning 5 years old.....I am still in shock. She is the artist out of all my children so I feel I have to go above and beyond with her. She looks at every detail and knows if something should be changed. She will be the next Martha! Actually can you believe that Martha is one of her favorite shows?! She will set and watch it with me every morning and we talk about the different things going on that day on the show.
We started planning her party about 3 maybe 4 months ago. She would set with me at the computer and we looked over many different ideas and finally after changing her mind 3 times she decided on the Milk and Cookies Party from TomKat Studio
The Husband sets a limit on each party so I am SOOOO glad I am crafty because otherwise we wouldn't have great looking parties. I have found so many great ideas and DIY out there that helped me so much. I will be sharing those with everyone as we go along. The first thing I wanted to show is something I came up with myself and I have to say I am super happy and excited! I have 3 more in my future to make and I am already planning it in my head.

This is what I had to start with. Thanks to Nana Becky we got this one as a hand me down. Have to say there is nothing better than a really good hand me down. If you don't have a Nana Becky it is yard sale season and also any thrift shop would have wood kitchen chairs just looking for a face lift.

I sprayed the chair down with some left over light blue spray paint. Then I used acrylic paint from Hobby Lobby and a foam paint brush. The color I loved so much was Island Blue. I applied 3 coats of this and it looked great. I then had the husband spray it with a sealer.

I was so excited with this color! I then added hot pink rhinestones, found at Hobby Lobby in the scrapbook section. Then I used 2 rolls of 6" tulle rolls found at you guessed it Hobby Lobby! I used Turquoise Shimmer and Hot Pink Shimmer. I tied a 3/8 ribbon from side to side and then made a tutu for the chair. I didn't cut the tulle into 3" strips I left them at 6" and cut them at 24" length. It worked out so perfect! I then tied hot pink double ruffle ribbon to each side just to add a little more frill. And there you have it my party chair!

After the party is over this chair will be moved to her room where it will be used as her vanity chair. What else screams vanity table but a fru~fru tutu! I hope you all love this as much I do. Go out and find an abandoned wooden chair and give it new life as a great party chair.
